At All Saints’ we are passionate about sustainable travel. We are also mindful of the impact of the cost of living crisis on our most vulnerable families.
With both these issues in mind, All Saints’ is teaming up with John’s Cycles on the parade in High Barnet to help disadvantaged All Saints' children get a bike for Christmas.
We are reaching out for your support.
Do you have a bike that your children have outgrown and could it be donated to families who are struggling to make ends meet this winter?
John, at John’s Cycles, has agreed to service any bikes that are donated and will make sure they are safe and ready to ride in time for Father Christmas’ sleigh! All he needs is some funds to pay for parts.
To raise money for these spare parts, we are planning to hold a sponsored cycle at All Saints’.
In the week beginning 28th November, the children in Years 1 to 6 will be invited to bring their bikes to school. They will be challenged to complete a course in the playground, which will be both challenging, age appropriate and fun.
Would you consider sponsoring your child to take part? The funds raised will go towards parts for the donated bikes.
If you are keen for your child to partake in the Sponsored Cycle, please ask the office for a sponsorship form and we would be grateful if you could start collecting sponsorship to raise the funds for this cause.
I will be in touch nearer the time, with more information on which day your child will be asked to bring their bike in that week.
In the meantime, if you have a child's bike you would can donate, please let the office know.
Hopefully, more children will choose to cycle to school if they have a working bike and the sponsored cycle will build on the skills children have already gained, both in and outside of school.
